A couple of weeks ago, Neal's Yard Remedies popped me a little surprise in the post; their All Over Body Balm from their Bee Lovely Collection.
The aim of the collection is to support 50 million bees by 2020 and to combat their decline.
The Story So Far
In 2011, Neal's Yard Remedies launched the Save The Bees campaign and raised £13,000, leading to the campaign being named 'Best Campaign' by The Ecologist.
* A year later, the Bee Lovely petition launched, along with the Bee Lovely Grant.
* Another year later and a 120,000-strong petition is sent to no.10, causing a continent-wide ban on deadly pesticides.
* By 2014, £50,000 was raised in donations, helping organisations such as the London Beekeeper's Association and Plantlife. Since then, 1,000 wildflowers have been planted and £80,000 raised to fund projects in Ghana and more locally.
This year sees the launch of their All Over Body Balm; with every balm sold, over 500 bees are supported. And as well as being kind our bees, the range is also kind to our skin; they are made with organic honey and organic orange essential oil. A sweet victory all round.
