There are akashic records for every planet and it’s the vibrational record of everything that has been said, done or thought on the planet. You have your own akashic records where you can access everything your soul has said/done/thought from the moment your soul was conceived. The importance of it is to have a record of everything that has happened and to be able to work with that information. For example, somebody might be afraid of swimming or water. You can access your records to go back and see where that comes from; it might be that you had a lifetime where you were on a ship and drowned. So you can then heal that and move on from it. You might not ever want to swim, but at least you’ve cleared it so it’s a choice that you can make out of preference and not from a place of fear.
Q. Is it hard to learn to read the Akashic records?
It’s literally just reading the akashic records prayer and once you get to the bottom, you’re in your records. It’s really that easy. You can then ask your questions, but there are two questions that don’t really work. One is ‘when am I going to…’ – the answer that comes through is usually ‘when you clear this or that belief…’ They (your guides, masters and loved ones) always give you some sort of advice. And the other difficult question is a yes or a no question, because it doesn’t lead you to more information. When you finish, you can close your records by reading the closing lines and then you’re out of your records.
When you connect to your guides, is it possible for negative energy to come through?
That’s a good question. The prayer has its own protection built into it, so there’s nothing from the outside that can come in. Your guides always come from a place of love and that’s how you know you’re in your records. There’s no ‘you screwed that one up’, more like ‘well that was an experience.’ What I find is that they speak to us in a way that we can understand. My friends are always addressed with ‘sweet one’ and ‘loved one’, but with me, it’s like ‘what were you thinking?!’, because I have a different tone. It’s always loving though. There is no judgment, fear or resistance. It’s so easy to hear the advice and accept it, because there is no resistance.
When people stop resisting things – either by accepting situations for what they are or doing things that they might find challenging – do they open themselves up to new opportunities?
Right. I think a difficult thing about resistance is that we don’t always see it or recognise when we’re resisting something. I’m working on a new book and a friend of mine had called and told me that she got the information that my book should be finished by August 25th. So I sat down and wrote the first chapter and it was a breeze. I printed it out and thought “wow, this is going to be easy!” So I sat down for chapter two and it was torture! So when I sit down and try to get information down but I can’t, I remember divine timing. I accept that I’m not ready to write the next chapter yet.
So what's the example of resistance there?
So the resistance would show up in you like “No! I need to write this now.” I have probably six or seven pages of text that are great examples of resistance, where I keep starting over again. When I’m struggling with things and realise this isn’t the way the process is supposed to be, I take a step back and let go of the “I need to do this by...” Instead, I can be like “where am I partying and what shall I do until the information comes in?” It’s a whole other way of looking at your life! So when we get more skilled at learning to identify it in our own lives, we can get rid of it and things start falling into place. But it’s a real bugger sometimes! You think you’ve cleared all your resistance and then find that there’s still more.
Kind of like trying to keep a house dust-free?
Yes, that’s an awesome example! I think I’ll have to use that one.
Q. How do our guides help us in following intuition/steering us in the right direction? For example, seeing the time at 11:11, 23:23 etc.
There are different number meanings (at the back of the book) and they are messages from the universe, showing love, inspiration and reassurance you that you are in alignment.
Q. How can people avoid the block of fear e.g. fear of success, change etc.
Oh there is no avoiding it! You really can’t. The title of my next book is “Healing In The 21st Century” and this directly relates to your question. We are here and we have come to this planet at this time to do a couple of things. The first is to clear any karma, good and bad. The other thing is to clear agreements – the things that we have agreed to. The third piece is clearing out these pictures that tell you that you have to grow up, get married, have a job and the belief that ‘life is hard.’ We want to clear those things out so that we are more aligned with who we are, why we are here and how the process actually works.
Q. How do you think the world is dealing with consciousness?
At the moment, there is what I would call a ‘download’. There is a lot of information that is coming in - things are more accessible to people. There are more people aware of nutrition and health because there is more information being downloaded and more clarity. You might go to bed maybe not knowing something and you wake up and it makes perfect sense. Your generation is really fascinating, because the people born between 1985-1998 are the people who came here specifically to teach people about love – no pressure!
Q. What is your favourite quote/life’s motto?
I love Ghandi’s quotes. There are different quotes that are appropriate at different times. I have a scrapbook – I’m that old – from when I was about eight years old, full of little cards with quotes. But there’s no real quote other than the idea that we’re all here to learn how to access our own information and that’s what I’m about.
