There are few places I visit and want to go back to. Madeira is one of those places. Last year was our first time on the island and at Vidamar Hotel; this year upon our return, the receptionist greeted us with 'welcome to your second home'. We just loved it so much that we couldn't think of a better place to spend this summer. Home to idyllic and dreamy views, genuinely happy people and vibrant culture, it's not hard to see why. I hope you enjoy these photos and the memories that we've brought back home with us.
Our reaction at an aborted landing at one of the world's most dangerous
airports, Aeroporto da Madeira.
Dusk, candy floss skies and palm trees. My favourite time of day.
Vidamar, the gorgeous hotel where we stayed.
The hilarious and embarrassing moment when I'd been asked to join a traditional dance.
Trying to capture the gorgeous decoration at Casa das Espetadas.
The Ritz, Funchal
Cats seem to follow us everywhere we go.
Taking a well-earned break from sunbathing for a spot of lunch.
Summer is just too tough.
